Summary: 8'x8' ft footprint and over 6' tall! large, light weight, easy to move with 1 person and about $200 to build! [img] [media] getting our first chickens meant building our first.... Easy and cheap to build. the coop is great for after the birds are feathered out ,but are still small enough to fall prey to hawks. out of the brooder and in to the hoop coop.. Here are some photos of our hoop house. [img] we used - 2 cattle panels - a couple of pieces of plywood - some 2x4s - an old screen door - tons of 1/2 inch hardware cloth - tarp from costco - lots....
Hoop coops are known for being relatively inexpensive and easy to build.. It's that time of year. i don't have chickens. feed stores and the like do. and it's hard to be on 4 acres and want chickens! i'm still deliberating....
